Joel I. Sher

Joel I. Sher is Chairman of the Firm and heads the Firm’s financial restructuring and bankruptcy practice. He provides counsel and representation to debtors, creditors, investors, and creditors’ committees in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and counsels clients in complex out-of-court restructurings. He has been described in  as “a wonderful attorney…very effective, very smart, knowledgeable and experienced,” and possessing a “formidable track record in corporate restructurings, creditors’ rights mandates, and bankruptcy litigation.” Mr. Sher has also successfully represented clients in numerous high-stakes litigation matters in federal and state courts throughout the United States.

Andrew C. Helman

Andrew Helman is a partner in the Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy practice group at Dentons and the Portland Office Managing Partner. He focuses his practice on bankruptcy and insolvency matters and works with all types of businesses, including those in the health care and cannabis sectors, to help them restructure and protect their assets.

Mark A. Mintz

Mark is co-leader of Jones Walker’s bankruptcy and creditors’ rights team and represents clients in a wide range of creditor and debtor rights matters, with a particular focus on creditors’ committees. Among his notable engagements, Mark advised a client involved in the bankruptcy of a Houston-based oil exploration and production (E&P) company that, at the time, was the largest bankruptcy filing in the United States. In addition to his work on behalf of creditors’ committees, Mark counsels secured and unsecured creditors, bankruptcy trustees, lenders, private equity groups, portfolio companies, debtors, and other parties in Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcies, workouts, restructurings, and reorganizations and in related litigation.
